Participation

To All Scouts:
Participation by everyone in a program is vital to it's survival. Some of you are on sport teams at school. What do you think would happen if your quarterback didn't show up at the football game?
What if the pitcher in a baseball game didn't play? the teams wouldn't do well.
It is the same with your patrol. If some of your patrol members don't show up at the meetings, it is you that suffers, your patrol isn't as strong.

Put your hand up in front of you and spread your fingers. Move them around, make a fist, they work pretty good together don't they? You could say they make a good team. Now imagine that you were missing some of them.... your hand would not work as well would it? That's what happens when some of the Scouts in your patrol don't show up.

It's up to every member of the patrol, not just the patrol leader, to call and remind the friends in their patrols to show up. How can you make proper plans for events when you don't know how many to plan for?

Participation by everyone in your patrol will make your patrol stronger, your scouting experience better, and your events a lot more fun.
